BIO
Paascalino Schaller
I am drawn to film making because of its ability to uplift people and communities. I have come to recognise the potency of visual story telling as a means of empowerment, for myself and for others. I was fortunate to teach at Avalon Intermediate for seven years and alongside the schools rangatahi, created an experiential learning & teaching model called Music Video Education that focuses on drawing out the skills and passions of students through a creative process. Fast forward to 2018 my love of film making led me to go full time as a freelancer. I feel honoured to have been asked to work on some amazing projects including working with Wairarapa Moana and collaborating with Warren Maxwell to create a series of 25 live Waiata Videos. I have also made video’s for some of Aotearoa’s prolific bands including Estere, L.A.B and Lost Tribe of Aotearoa. I’ve created short documentaries for Massey University and Wellington Wider Regional Council and continued to make music videos with rangatahi in schools.
